The Custom Remington 700 PCR‑E 6mm‑Creed‑Style Precision Build is a factory‑accurate Remington 700 PCR‑E platform starting with its stock 24‑inch 5R barrel, already threaded and tuned for serious long‑range work, then upgraded with a set of precision‑oriented components to create a cohesive, shooter‑ready rifle. The 5R 24‑inch 6mm‑Creed‑compatible barrel provides excellent inherent accuracy and a smooth, easy‑to‑tune platform, while the MDT Elite muzzle brake on the 5/8×24‑inch muzzle drastically reduces felt recoil and muzzle flip for faster follow‑up shots and easier impact‑recovery at distance. The MDT folding stock adapter converts the chassis into a compact, breakdown‑friendly rig that packs smaller and still gives you a rigid, repeatable shooting platform once assembled. The Timney Elite Hunter trigger, installed in the Remington 700 action, is tuned roughly 2–4 lb, with a crisp, glass‑rod‑style wall and positive reset, giving you a competition‑level pull in a production‑style rifle.

Optically, you run a Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5–25×50 with a ZERO‑stop target‑style turret, which is ideal for 800–1,000‑yard work and holdover‑or‑dial‑style long‑range shooting in 6‑mm‑Creed, 6‑mm‑Dasher, or 6.5‑Creedmoor cartridges. The Harris BR bipod mounts to the MDT‑style forend, providing a solid, repeatable front rest for field‑position, bench, and PRS‑style use, and the combination of Vortex Viper PST, 5R barrel, and folding‑stock MDT chassis gives you a very shooter‑friendly, field‑deployable long‑range rifle.

For ammunition you are using Federal Gold 168‑grain Sierra MatchKing (SMK), which is a solid, match‑ready choice in 6.5 Creedmoor and similar 6‑mm‑style calibers, though many long‑range shooters find that 175‑grain SMK offers a bit more ballistic efficiency and wind‑tolerance at the far end, so that’s an easy reload‑direction to explore if you want to push the rifle’s long‑range potential a bit further.

Remington 700 PCR-E. Stock it came with a 5R 24 inch barrel. I added an MDT Elite muzzle brake, MDT folding stock adapter, and Timney Elite Hunter trigger. Scope is a Vortex Viper PST 5-25×50. Harris BR bipod. Federal Gold 168 SMK rounds.
